Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick, (Cradle a ‘baby’ in your arms and rock them back and forth)
So she called for the Doctor to come quick, quick, quick. (Hold a ‘phone’ to your ear and make a ‘come here’ motion with either your finger or your hand)
The Doctor came with his bag and his hat, (Hold a ‘bag’ and touch your hand to your head to indicate a hat)
And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat. (Make a ‘knocking’ motion)
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head. (Shake your head)
He said “Miss Polly put her straight to bed.” (Shake your finger)
He wrote on a paper for a pill, pill, pill. (Use a finger to ‘write’ on the palm of your hand)
“I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.” (Hold your palm out on the words ‘bill, bill, bill’)

Dingle dangle scarecrow

 

When all the cows are sleeping and the sun has gone to bed, (Crouch down low and rest your head on your hands like they’re a pillow)
Up jumps the Scarecrow and this is what he says, (Jump up)
“I’m a Dingle Dangle Scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat, (Put hands on head)
I can shake my hands like this and shake my feet like that.” (Shake hands and then feet)
When all the hens are roosting and the moon is behind a cloud, (Crouch down and cover your face with your hands)
Up jumps the Scarecrow and shouts very loud, (Jump up and raise your voice, cupping your hands around your mouth)
“I’m a Dingle Dangle Scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat, (Put hands on head)
I can shake my hands like this and shake my feet like that.” (Shake hands and then feet)

The grand old duke of York (March on the spot)
He had 10,000 men
He marched them up to the top of the hill (Keep marching and stretch up tall)
And he marched them down again. (Keep marching and squat down low)
And when they were up they were up, (Gradually get taller again, until on tiptoe)
And when they were done they were down, (March crouched over)
And when they were nearly half way up,
They were neither up nor down. (When you say ‘up’ raise your arms over your head, then squat down low when you say ‘down’)
He marched them all to the left, (March to the left)
Then he marched them all to the right, (March to the right)
He marched them round, and round, and round (March around in a circle)
Then he marched them out of sight!  (Cover your eyes with your hands)

Incy wincy spider

 

Incy wincy spider climbed up the water spout (Alternately put your left thumb on the tip of your right forefinger, then your right thumb on the tip of your left forefinger. Move your thumbs and forefingers in turn as the spider climbs up the spout)
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out (Hold both hands up and wiggle your fingers as you lower them to imitate rain before throwing down your arms when the spider is washed out)
Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain (Make a big circle with your arms to represent the sun)
So Incy wincy spider climbed up the spout again. (Alternately put your left thumb on the tip of your right forefinger, then your right thumb on the tip of your left forefinger. Move your thumbs and forefingers in turn as the spider climbs up the spout)

Tiny Tim the turtle

Mother stands her baby up in the tub.
I had a little turtle (Make a “turtle” with one fist with your thumb poking out)
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bath tub
To see if he could swim (Move arms in swimming motion)
He drank up all the water (Pretend to drink from a cup, making slurping noise)
He ate up all the soap (Open and close fingers as if they are eating, making munching noise)
And now he has a bubble
In the middle of his throat! (Touch throat)
Bubble bubble bubble (Slowly open arms wider and wider, trill lips to make bubbling noise)
Bubble bubble bubble
POP! (Pop finger out of mouth to make a popping noise)
