Swan View Toy Library is a convenient way for your child to explore a wide range of toys without having to buy them! They have everything from baby’s first toys to construction, educational, dramatic, jigsaws, games and much more, just waiting for your children to explore. All toys are carefully selected to provide entertainment and educational benefits for children up to the age of 8 years. With approximately 1000 toys in the collection, a wide range of play experiences await your child.

Cost

Pile of Jigsaw Puzzle PiecesMembers pay a low annual fee that enables them to borrow toys throughout the ensuing year (from actual date of joining). There are no weekly hire fees.  New members are always welcome. To be eligible to join, applicants must be over 18 years old and able to meet membership obligations, in particular roster and stocktake duties.Carers and Grandparents are also welcome to join, with the same membership obligations. Fees and entitlements are as follows:

Standard Membership
$35.00 per year

Concession Membership
$25.00 per year (Proof of concession status required)

A $50 bond is required when joining but is fully refundable when leaving the toy library providing there are no outstanding toys or fees.

Up to 4 toys and 5 Jigsaws/Games May be borrowed per membership.

Conditions

The loan period is for three weeks. Items may, however, be exchanged earlier. If a toy is damaged/lost whist out on loan the member is responsible for its repair/replacement cost. Failure to pay these costs may result in the member’s suspension.

The toy library relies on members for its success, and can only be successful if everyone contributes equally. In taking out membership you are committing to do an average of 2 rosters of 1.5 hours per term. Depending on membership numbers, this may be less. Members get to nominate a roster that suits them. All training provided through our very easy computer system.

Rosters Plus one other duty to toy library per year. this may be helping out at a promotional event, participating in a cleaning and maintenance session, stocktake, or a fundraising opportunity.

Penalties do apply for missed rosters, so please be sure to attend on your nominated roster date.
